<p>A spring having high strength and high toughness and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to obtain the spring through a direct drawing process without performing a softening heat treatment process. A method of manufacturing a spring comprises the steps of directly drawing a steel wire having a superior cold-working property without performing softening heat treatment relative to the steel wire, and hot-processing the steel wire in the temperature of 850 to 1000°C such that the steel wire has a spring shape. Then, the spring is heat-treated such that the spring has an austenite structure. The spring is cooled by using oil, and the cooled spring is subject to a tempering process. The tempering temperature is in the range of 350 to 450°C.</p> |
