<p>The truck starts from its upper position on the inclined frame, and its connecting rod is rigidly connected to the upper frame rail. The truck hollow member, supported by buoyancy of an enclosed liq., such as mercury, has still some free play in the mercury container, and thus enjoys full buoyancy affecting the connecting rod. The rod exerts high pressure on the frame rail, however, without impeding the truck movement, as the rod is fitted with a ball bearing. The truck is connected to a suitably rated counter-weight providing the truck lifting by its free fall.</p> |
