<p>The three-point anchorage seat belt system consists of a seat belt retractor (9), deflecting fitting (8) and lock plate (4) engaging with a lock (6) fitted on one side of the seat (1). The end of the belt (3) is fixed at a point (7) to the chassis of the vehicle. To bring the lock plate within easier reach, when the seat belt is to be used a second lock (5) is fixed to the side of seat which is opposite to the location of the first. When not in use, the lock plate (4) is inserted into the second lock and can be reached without undue contortion of the body.</p> |
