A thermoplastic film welder particularly for domestic use, has two horizontal welding jaws one of which is near the front edge of an adjustable base on a table and the other is fixed on a pressure beam hinged at the back of the base. The base has an additional support so that the height of the bottom jaw above the table can be adjusted. Provides convenient space for easy welding e.g. for packs filled with liquid.
