The socket can accept either a two-pin flat plug with no ground contact or a plug with a ground contact. A second socket for holding a flat plug pin is located in the space inside the socket part (3) of a conventional socket. The extension pole contact socket parts (1) are located on each side of and parallel to the ground contact bracket (8) or transverse to the socket arrangement of the existing plug system. The plug-in hole (7) in the outer cover (5) of an earthed contact socket is designed to hold two flat plugs parallel or transverse to the plug-in position of the earthed contact plug.
