PURPOSE:To improve following-up to an insutruction, by utilizing upper and lower light optical fibers, which are opposed to each other across a minute gap, as a sensor. CONSTITUTION:Each optical fiber is made of a plurality of optical fiber core filaments juxtaposed in rows. One end of each of upper and lower optical fibers 1, 2 has a slope as a whole. The core filaments are so laid that a small uniform gap is defined when both the optical fibers are assembled and opposed to each other. The other ends of the upper and the lower optical fibers are bundled so that bundled parts 13, 23 are provided. The bundled part 23 of the lower optical fibers 2 are bent to U shape. A light emitter 4 or a light receiver 5 is attached to the ends of the upper and the lower optical fibers. The quantity of light transmitted between the light emitter and the light receiver depends on the level of gasoline filled in the small oblique gap between both the optical fibers 1, 2, namely, the level of the gasoline in a gasoline tank. This results in an improvment of the facility of the sensor for following-up a liquid level instruction. |
