A winding space (11) provides a top closure for a window opening or doorway in a building. It has an installation opening or doorway in a building. It has an installation opening (12) closable by a removable cover (13). The assembly is able to accommodate a spindle for rolling up a roller shutter. Here the installation opening is sited in the area of the front side allotted to the outside of the building. The cover is pref. vertically arranged, and can be fitted with a screen (14) in teh exterior area and also a fixing claw (16). This allows a generous opening cross-section and rapid and easy cover detachment, and is attractive.
