PURPOSE:To remove soil on the surface of steel material such as oil or fat, their decomposition products, metallic powder etc. economically, effectively and in safety, by using a detergent for steel material composed of an org. chelating agent, a surfactant, an org. sulfur compound, and a strong alkaline agent. CONSTITUTION:A blend, which consists of an org. chelating agent contg. a combination of one or more members among OH, COOH, NH2, OP(OH)2 in its molecule; an alkali metal salt of these group, and a chelating agent contg. a lower amine having 1-4 carbon atoms, or an alkanol-amine having up to 6 carbon atoms; any one of anionic, cationic, or amphoteric surfactants; an org. sulfur compound shown by Formula I (where R1, R2 are H, alkyl, aryl etc. having 1-8 carbon atoms, and those groups which condense with each other to form an cycloaliphatic or a heterocyclic compd., A is Formula II) or by Formula III; and a strong alkaline agent, is used as a detergent for the surface of steel material in the electrolysis. The detergent can be used at a temp. lower than that of conventional detergent, and removes iron powder, etc. effectively. |
