PURPOSE:To make an Ag alloy contg. a little In and a little Zn harmless to the human body and cheaper and enhance the sulfurization resistance and mechanical properties of the alloy by blending an adequate amount of Sn and Pd. CONSTITUTION:This silver alloy contains 65-75% Ag, 10-14% In, 7.5-17.5% Zn, 2.5-12.5% Sn and 0-0.5% Pd. This alloy is free from Cd which is undesirable in use for sanitary reasons about the human body, and the expensive In content is reduced. It, however, possesses everlasting discoloration resistance to sulfurization and superior mechanical properties such as high hardness and toughness. This alloy is used as a dental material, an electrical contact material, accessories, etc. |
