A method of knitting socks or gloves with toe (finger) bags capable of reducing a pressing job for arranging the shape with the ends in a knitting width direction of respective toe bags kept overlapped when knitting is completed. The method of knitting socks or gloves with toe (finger) bags which starts knitting at the tip of a toe by using a weft knitting machine capable of lateral racking and stitch transferring between front and rear needle beds, and forms a folded portion at a web portion so that toe bags adjoining with respect to at least one web portion overlap at their knitting width direction ends. The folded portion is formed such that two adjoining tubular portions are joined at a web forming position into a one tubular form to form a web portion, then, at one knitted fabric portion out of a front knitted fabric portion and a rear knitted fabric portion at the joined tubular portion, a plurality of stitches are overlapped at the above web portion so as to allow the knitted fabrics to overlap to form an overlapped stitch, and the stitches of the other knitted fabric portion out of the front and rear ones are routed around the one knitted fabric portion side to form continuous stitches at the overlapped stitch. |
