A mobile communication terminal and an operation method thereof are provided to output a menu key corresponding to a particular control code on a screen when the particular control code is included in a received message, thus a user can select whether to perform the particular function. When a message is received(S200), a controller reads the received message to confirm whether a particular control code is included in the received message(S210). If the particular control code is included in the message(S220), the controller outputs the message(S230). The controller generates a soft key to output a menu key corresponding to the generated soft key on a screen(S240). In case a signal for performing a function corresponding to the particular control code is inputted through the outputted menu key, the controller performs the corresponding function(S250,S260).
