PURPOSE:To make possible the production of the molding which is short in mold length and is nevertheless free from break-out at a high speed by constituting the mold body by thin-walled heat-resisting copper alloy and providing a copper clad layer on the outside circumferential surface in the continuous casting tubular mold of iron and steel material. CONSTITUTION:When a copper clad layer 6 is provided on at least the portions where a waterproof packing 4 is to be mounted on the outside circumferential surface of a mold body 5 made of heat resisting copper alloy thinner than that of conventional devices, the heat resistant strength may be maintained without imparing the heat exchangeability of the mold. Hence, even if the mold length of the tubular mold 1 is made short, there is no likelihood of causing break-out in the casting because of the high rate of solidification of the molten steel 2, thus the continuous casting of high performance becomes possible. |
