PURPOSE:To coordinate packing property, adhesive property and active material utilization rate by packing a base plate with cadmium oxide, electric conductive agent and paste made of carboxymethylcellulose and other kinds of bonding agents in specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:To active material powder of an electrode consisting of conductive materials such as cadmium oxide powder and nickel powder are added bonding agents, other than carboxymethylcellulose, such as polyvinyl alcohol and composite bonding agent consisting of carboxymethylcellulose corresponding to 0.5-1.5% by weight of the electrode active material powder to make paste which is packed and applied to porous base plate and dried to make a cadmium electrode plate. For example, water is added to and mixed with 8kg cadmium oxide, 2kg nickel powder, 280g polyvinylalcohol and 90g carboxymethylcellulose to prepare paste with 30,000-80,000cP viscosity which is applied on the porous base plate. |
