PURPOSE:To improve intensity of color characteristics by providing an electron beam passing slit-shaped small hole in a control electrode and focussing the electron beam by way of a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:The slit-shaped small hole 14 is provided in the cup-shaped first control electrode 13 that is arranged nearest the cathode 12. The first control electrode 13 is arranged so that the appropriate direction of the long or short axis of this hole 14 can form an angle of inclination theta in the direction of the phosphor stripe, i.e. the vertical axis of the screen. A compensating means which moves the position of a magnetic field generator toward the axial direction and which compensates the inclination of a lengthwise-type electron beam caused by the sealing of the electron gun frame body and production error is provided on the outer surface of the bulb neck area. |
