PURPOSE:To obtain a liq. crystal display element free from air bubbles between each polarizing plate and protective glass and having a high contrast by coating an adhesive onto protective glass placed outside polarizing plates laid on both sides of a liq. crystal display cell; sticking the glass and one of the plates together under reduced pressure; and curing the adhesive under pressure. CONSTITUTION:Glass plate 15 with adhesive 14 coated on the whole under side is attached to the under side of filmlike rubber 12, with agglutinant 13, stretched between support stands 11a, 11b, and liq. crystal cell 16 with polarizing plate 17 stuck is set below plate 15. The whole of them is housed in polypropylene bag 18 provided with exhaust pipe 18a, and bag 18 is shifted into a bell jar. The jar is set under a reduced pressure of about 10 mmHg or less, and the portion of pipe 18a is fusion- bonded to air-tightly seal bag 18. The jar is then opened to return the outside of bag 18 to atmospheric pressure, and plate 15 is stuck to plate 17 by pressing. After taking out bag 18 the resulting liq. crystal display element is heated to about 70 deg.C in an atmosphere of about 3-20 atmospheric pressure to cure adhesive 14. |
