PURPOSE:To improve the liquid-tightness of a negative electrode current collector sealed with a hermetic seal portion by specifically shaping such collector to be recessed downwards. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode terminal 21 using nickel-plated Kovar alloy, etc. is fused integrally with a positive electrode upper case 23 made of nickel-plated Kovar alloy, etc. by sealing material ring 22 using borosilicate glass, etc. to form a hermetic seal portion. By this use of this portion are provided in the positive electrode upper case 23 an annular insulating gasket 24 and cup-shaped negative electrode current collector 25a welded to a negative electrode. Also thereinafter successively are provided a sublimeted zinc negative electrode binder 26, electrolite impregnant 27, separator 28, positive electrode binder pellet 29 of silver oxide to be covered by a positive electrode lower case 30, with both cases 23, 30 being welded and sealed to form a battery. For the negative electrode current collector 25a is used a cup-shaped one provided on the central portion with a downward recess. |
