An image reading apparatus and an Image forming apparatus having the same are provided to improve an installation structure of a light-shielding member and an installation location of scan units, thereby improving scan quality. A first scan unit reads image information recorded in a first side of a document. A second scan unit is arranged in a location separated from the first scan unit along a transfer direction of the document. The second scan unit reads image information recorded in a second side of document. The first scan unit and the second scan unit include a first scan unit case(131a) and a second scan unit case(131b). At least one or more light-shielding member(170) is installed between the first scan unit and the second scan unit along the transfer direction of the document.
