PURPOSE:To connect the connecting parts of adjoining single batteries with stable welding workability by pressing and fusion-bonding connecting pieces with welding electrodes having projections. CONSTITUTION:Groups of plates 3, 3' are inserted into a plastic battery jar having a partition 1. The connecting pieces 5, 5' attached to the straps 4, 4' of the plates 3, 3' are arranged so that they face each other on both sides of the through hole 2. The connecting pieces 5, 5' are deformed under pressure by a pair of welding electrodes 6, 6'. When the connecting pieces 5, 5' are brought into contact each other in the through hole 2, current is applied from power source 9, so that the projections 10, 10' are fused and the through hole 2 is filled with the fused connecting pieces. The welding electrodes 6, 6' have projections 7, 7' to keep air tightness and projections 8, 8' for welding. |
