1495858 Antibiotic substance RHONEPOULENC INDUSTRIES 4 March 1975 [5 March 1974 18 Dec 1974] 8962/75 Heading C2C The novel antibacterial and anticoccidial substance designated 31559 RP, and its salts with metals and nitrogen-containing bases, and having, in the form of the sodium salt, the formula are obtained by culturing Streptromyces hygroscopicus DS 24367 (NRRL 5787), or a productive mutant thereof, aerobically in a culture medium, and isolating the 31559 RP formed during the culture as such or as a salt. Antibacterial and anticoccidial compositions comprise one of the above novel compounds together with a carrier. The novel compounds may also be used as growth promotors. |
