PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and durability of a photosensitive body and to reduce its residual potential by incorporating a specified bisazo compound a carrier generating material in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains at least one of the bisazo compounds represented by formula I in which each of R1 and R2 is halogen, alkyl, nitro, or the like; each of R3-R7 is H, halogen, alkyl, or the like; each of n and m is an integer of 0-3. It is preferred to form the photosensitive layer consisting of the laminate of a carrier generating layer containing the compound of formula I as a carrier generating material and a carrier transfer layer containing a carrier transfer material, such as a compound of formula II in which each of Ar1, Ar2, and Ar4 is optionally (substituted)aryl; Ar3 is optionally (substituted)arylene; and R1 is H, optionally (substituted)alkyl or such aryl. |
