The concentrating solar energy storage unit has a convex transparent body (11) with an index of refraction increasing progressively from outside to inside. This is achieved by suitable chemical and structural composition and the superimposition of transparent convex coaxial bodies (12-15). The index of refraction increases progressively from the outermost (12) to the innermost (15) body, since underneath them are flat inwards-reflecting surfaces (21). The number, the indices of refraction, and the thickness of the individual bodies are such that multiple refraction and reflection causes the sunrays (22-27) striking the outside surface (28) to converge onto the innermost one (16).
|
