An apparatus for forming a multiple planar image to be utilized to project a playing screen mainly on a game machine. This apparatus comprises an observation window (5), and main and auxiliary image producing chambers (3, 4) in a housing (1). The main image producing chamber is divided into a plurality of small compartments (19, 20, 21). Each compartment incorporates part of video cathode ray tube screen (22, 23 or 24) and an image source such as an actual article. Transparent half mirrors (14, 15, 16 and 17) are mounted between the respective compartments and the observation window (5) These half mirrors are so disposed that the depth of the image screen thus obtained is seen farther than the actual position of the image source. If the image of the actually stationary image source is to be seen to move, the mirrors are moved relative to each other. The irregular intensities of the respective images reaching the observation window can be adjusted or equalized. The image may also be doubled by providing a pair of non-parallel half minors in the optical path of the pictures. The auxiliary image producing chamber incorporates a plurality of rack-like picture sources (39, 40 and 41) different in width and disposed stationarily or movably therein. |
