Elastomer conveyor or drive belt - with plastic cords and bilateral plastic tissue plies, the latter overlapping at joints

Conveyor belt or drive belt, made of rubber or rubber substitute, has >=1 layer of ropes or cords to absorb the pull, and in the space above and below this layer a high-strength planar woven tissue. Both the cords and the woven tissue are pref. made of polyester or a polyamide such as aramide. At a junction, the cords end short of the joint, but the outside tissue plies are continued into the rubber where they are vulcanised, those from the one side continuing at the same levels, and those from the other side narrowing their distance to overlap inside the others. Outside strips cover the joint on both sides. This creates a strong joint which is not more stiff than the rest. It requires only simple techniques to perform a joint.
