<p>The rear view mirror for a motor vehicle comprises a flat upper mirror surface, and a lateral and/or lower surface which has a slight spherical surface curvature and is offset relative to the flat surface. This curved surface provides a reduced image of traffic approaching in the blind area close to the side of the vehicle without the need for extra head movement. The flat and curved surfaces may be integral, or separate from and connected to one another. The arrangement may be applied to exterior or interior rear view mirrors.</p> |
