Bulk material conveyor tube stop valve - has elastic sleeve expanded in connectable housing by pressure medium

The stop valve is for a conveyor tube handling material in bulk, and has a housing (1) which can be incorporated between sections of the tube (24). The housing contains a sleeve (6) of elastic material, and a control pipe (14) supplying a medium under pressure is connected to the chamber formed between the housing and the outside of the sleeve. Thus expansion of the sleeve throttles and finally completely shuts off the flow of material through it. Both housing and sleeve can be cylindrical. Preferably the conveyor tube is part of dredger for removing sand from the river or sea bed.
