Exposure detail projection into SLR viewfinder - has light guide in front of penta-prism and has integral illumination

An addition to the front of an SLR camera projects the objective settings into the viewfinder using a simple light guide (13) with inlet surfaces for outside and internal illumination and outlet surfaces for the data. The image is projected into the front of the viewfinder housing and from there into the prism using angled mirrors. The data viewer is separate from the viewfinder, which can be replaced without affecting the data input. The internal light (13a) provides illumination when the flash mode is selected while a large front surface (13f) of the light guide collects normal daylight for normal exposures. The viewer provides a direct indication of the objective settings without any complex mechanical or electric links.
