The press button switch improves the sealing of its components to prevent ingress of dirt or dampness. The reliability of the sealing is maintained so that the unit can operate in dirty surroundings as well as under water. The switches (11) are mounted on the p.c.b. (2) where they are held by a frame (3). In addition, the assembly includes a trim cover (7) set in the frame (3) and exhibiting illumination fields (9) around the press buttons (11) of the switches. The illumination is provided by LEDs, and inserts (14) hold the press button cap (15) while sealing is ensured by a cap (21) of readily deformable elastic material.
