<p>The two-pin safety plug and socket have both leads isolated within the connector halves when not connected. The plug has two moving contacts (6, 7) acted on by springs that keep them clear of the plug pins (12, 13) when the plug is not inserted in the socket. The lead is connected to the moving contacts. The socket is similarly constructed with its spring contacts (17, 18) only touching the contact sleeves when the plug is inserted in both the plug and the socket. The contacts are moved by spring loaded piston devices (3) between the pins.</p> |
