The gearwheel consists of an inner part (6') and an outer part (2) which are connected by three springy arms (12). The end of the arms (16') locate in teeth (5) on the inside of the outerpart to hold the two parts together. This location permits the two parts to be rotated relative to each other to make the desired adjustment. The two parts are made from plastic and the arms each have two elbows (19, 21) to give the required spring action. A similar arrangement with four arms can also be used.
