<p>Apparatus and a method for preparing a particle suspension by measuring and adjusting the concentration of a suspension while the suspension is being subjected to particle-dispersing physical agitation are disclosed. The invention has particular application to the preparation of a cytologic specimen exhibiting isolated single cells, which specimen can be subjected to machine analysis in a flowthrough type counter or be applied to slides with even dispersion and uniform density in monocellular layers suitable for microscopic analysis.</p> |
