A compressible press-packing laminate is provided comprising a preferably highly porous compressible lamina and a lamina which is a solid non-compressible heat-set composition, generally derived from a polyvinyl polymer plastisol, a crosslinkable polyacrylate and optionally a phenolic resin. The invention also provides a process for manufacturing such a laminate which comprises applying a coating of the plastisol at least 2 mils (0.05 mm) thick onto a compressible lamina, solidifying said coating, thereafter, in a second step, curing said coating.
