Apparatus for simulating waveforms for checking the operability of a remote display device includes a first waveform generator (44, 46) for providing electrical signals representing an electrocardiographic waveform and a second waveform generator (56, 58) for providing electrical signals representing a blood pressure waveform. A clock circuit (42) drives both the waveform generators. The initiation of the blood pressure waveform is delayed by delay means (70, 72, 74) from the beginning of the electrocardiographic waveform so that the waveforms are provided in a timed sequence corresponding to waveforms that would ordinarily be supplied by a live patient. <IMAGE>
