PURPOSE: To obtain a high-strength rod, etc. by heating a rod, a pipe, a sheet, etc., by irradiation with a laser beam while being drawn between a feed roll and a draw-off roll and continuously drawing the thermoplastic rod having a relatively large sectional area, etc. CONSTITUTION: A rod having 0.1-10 mm, preferably 0.1-5 mm diameter, a thin material such as a pipe, a sheet, etc., having 50μm to 6 mm, preferably 100μm to 5 mm thickness, etc., is molded from a thermoplastic resin and drawn between a feed roll 1 and a draw-off roll 3. A raw material rod 2, etc., are sent out at a temperature >=50 deg.C lower than a temperature at which the raw material rod is heated by a laser beam 4a and heated by the laser beam 4a to a temperature 2-5 deg.C, preferably 2-45 deg.C lower than the melting point.
