Cpds of tautomeric formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new: In (I), R1 is H or halo in the 4, 5 or 6 posn; R2 is (a) 2-4C alkyl substd (but not 1-substd) by NR3R4, CONR3R4 or CN, where R3 and R4 are H or alkyl, or NR3R4 is a 5- or 6-membered satd. heterocyclic gp opt contg another heteroatom selected from sec. or tert N, O or S; (b)dialkoxymethyl, dialkylthiomethyl, alkylsulphonylmethyl, phenylthiomethyl, 1-phenylcyclopropyl or 1-methlcyclohexyl; (c) 2-aminophenyl or dihydroxy-, dimethyl- or dimethoxyphenyl; (d) 1-naphthyl, 1,3-dithiolan-2-yl, 5,6-dihydro-1,4-dithiin-2-yl, 3-thienyl or 2-, 3- or 4-pyridyl; or (e) alkanoyl or benzoyl. Cpds (I) are anthelmintics, e.g. active against Nematospiroides dubius, Litomosoides carinii, Alkylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephale and Toxocara spp. |
