The holding down bolt (4) may be used to fix equipment (18) to a concrete base. It locates in a pre-bored blind hole (5, 6), and utilises a robust pivotable oval washer (2) to effect a radial expansion type anchorage. A stop (7), which may take the form of a plain nut, is provided on the leading extremity of the bolt, and the washer has a central opening (3) traversed by bolth shaft. The opening is symmetrical relative to both washer plan axies and is elongated on the major axis, the assembly includes an axial drilled cylindrical block or dolly (10). The dolly is also traversed by the shaft and is sited beneath the bolt head (8) and a cover washer, being advanced by a percussion tool or similar to pivot the anchor washer until it bears against the stop and normal to the shaft. |
