PURPOSE:To enable write-in and read-out of the optical recording medium with two kinds of light using polarized light by using an optical recording medium composed of a photochromic compd. causing difference between the parallel component of an absorption spectrum and the vertical component of the spectrum against the polarizing direction of irradiated laser light. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer is composed of a mixed LB film obtd. by diluting a spiropyrane with twice moles of arachidinic acid. The information is recorded on the optical recording medium 1 with the light which is synthesized by a 1st polarized laser light and a 2nd polarized laser light intersected perpendicularly to the 1st polarized laser light and has the different informations with each other. And in case of reading the information on the optical recording medium, the light which is not polarized and has passed through the optical recording medium 1, is divided into the component parallel to the standard direction and the polarized component perpendicular to the parallel component by a polarized beam splitter 2, and each components are supplied to a light receiving device such as photodiodes 3, 3, thereby being converted into each electric signal, respectively. |
