A biasing circuit biases the second of two input terminals of a differential amplifier at a first reference level. A bilevel voltage generated at an output terminal of the differential amplifier shifts levels when the sawtooth voltage equals the first reference voltage level. A second biasing circuit coupled to the first input terminal biases the first input terminal at a second reference voltage level differing from the 1st reference level by an offset voltage. The second reference level is selected to equalize the duration of each of the bilevel voltages.
