Method of increasing grain yield in field corn by application of triacontanol

A field corn specific method of treatment with 1-triacontanol [CH3(CH2)28CH2OH] which produces a significant yield increase is disclosed. The method teaches that the stage of plant maturity is the key to the attainment of increased yields in field corn. Foliar applied rates from about 2 mg per acre to about 56 mg per acre are equally effective, which makes widespread commercial farm use practical.
