A device for placing a strip of an adhesive foil on a cardboard cover intended for binding of sheets of paper. The device comprises two parallel, separate straightedges 8, 9, and has a slit for introducing between the straightedges a foil of adhesive 10 with a width corresponding to a desired strip length. Between the straightedges, a movable punch 3 is arranged for separating from the foil 10 a strip having a width corresponding to the distance between the straightedges, and pressing the separated strip 16 against a cardboard cover 12 placed on the straightedges. The device further comprises means for pressing the cardboard cover against the straightedges 8, 9, simultaneously with the strip being pressed against said cardboard cover while transitory heating the strip 16. It is preferred that said means 11 for pressing the cardboard cover 12 against the straightedges 8, 9 comprises a heating device adapted to move in synchronism with the punch 3. <IMAGE> |
