PURPOSE:To improve oscillation efficiency of a given wave length by a method wherein a reflecting mirror is fixed to one end of a member so as to face against another reflecting mirror fixed to the other end of the member in which a Brewster window is integrated into its enclosing case, and methane gas is filled therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A reflecting mirror 3 is fixed to an end of an enclosing case 6 in which mixture of He and Ne gases is filled. An extension of the enclosing case 6 is integrated via a separating wall 16. A reflecting mirror 4 is fixed to an end of an enclosing mirror 3, and CH4 gas 14 is filled in the case. With voltage applied to a negative-pole lead 2 and a positive pole rod 1, mixture gas 13 of He and Ne are discharged, thereby plasma is excited in a plasma tube 9 and laser oscillation is generated by a resonator interaction of the reflecting mirrors 3 and 4. The laser beam is linear-polarized through a Brewster window 14 and passes through the CH4 gas. Thus a linear-polarized laser output is obtained in which 3.39mu oscillation line is suppressed but 0.6328mu oscillation line is intensified. |
