The cartridge consists of a sleeve containing an ink reservoir (14), below which is a capillary ink buffer-piece (16) containing a central passage, while there is a ventilation port (24) in the side of the sleeve (12) between reservoir and buffer-piece. There can be a capillary ink-storage unit in the sleeve also, with a central passage between the port and the buffer piece, to collect any leakage.
