The blood sample collecting instrument, consists of a cylinder with an adaptor at one end for a needle. The cylinder contains a piston attached to a piston rod. The instrument is protected against infection. The piston (30) is fitted with two elastomer rings (4). The piston rod end of the cylinder (10) is open. The first position of the piston is when it is at the adaptor end of the cylinder, the second is near the open end of the cylinder with blocking elements, and the position is outside the cylinder. When in the second position the piston will seal off the cylinder.
