METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING CRYSTALLINE SLAG OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To produce crystalline blast furnace slag which has few pores and makes no yellow water, by pouring molten slag into channels between numerous cooling metal members extending on the peripheral part of a rotating body in its axial direction so that the molten slag is quenched and solidified rapidly and by forcibly separating the solidified slag. CONSTITUTION:A necessary number of cooling metal members 2 for forcibly cooling a substance inside the members are endlessly provided on the peripheral part of a rotating body 1 of a crystalline blast furnace slag manufacturing device so that the longitudinal direction of each cooling metal member is almost perpendicularly crossed with the rotating direction of the rotary body 1. Channels 3 are defined by the opposed outside faces of the adjacent cooling metal members 2 so that the width of each channel is gradually reduced from its top to its bottom. Molten slag 5 at a temperature of 1350 deg.C or less is poured from a molten slag feedeer 4 into the channels 3 located on the top of the rotating body 1 rotating at a prescribed speed so that the molten slag is quenched and solidified in the channels. When the channels 3 reach the bottom of the rotating body 1, the solidified slag is separated out of the channels 3 by forcible separation members 7 forcibly moved by a thrusting unit 8. The separated slag drops onto a belt conveyor 29. Crystalline blast furnace slag is thus continuously produced.
