PURPOSE:To eliminate slippage of the recording start position dependent upon selection of a scanning line density with a simple constitution, by generating the recording start signal on a basis of the electrode line of the highest use frequency. CONSTITUTION:When the carriage moves in the main scanning direction, the detector on the carriage detects a slit on the plate. By this slit detection, line sink signals LS1 and LS2 are generated. Consequently, signals LS1 and LS2 and element clock ELCK are generated in positional relationship corresponding to the main scanning position. Since picture information of line density 4 lines/mm is much for a normal original, positional relationship between the recording head and the detector is so adjusted that it may be adapted to this picture information. For arrival at the position shown in the figure, recording start signal SD is generated. Consequently, if picture information of 32-line components in the subscanning direction is input to the driving circuit at every generation of the element clock after that by this signal SD, prescribed picture information is recorded within the effective screen width of line density 4 lines/mm. Thus, prescribed picture information can be recorded in the prescribed effective screen width for the line density of the high use frequency. |
