PURPOSE:To obtain a polyolefin composite fiber having flame retardancy much greater than that comprising the same amount of a flame-retardant incorporated in the whole fiber, by forming a composite structure from a low-melting component containing a flame-retardant with a high-melting component. CONSTITUTION:(A) A fiber-forming polyolefin polymer as a high-melting component is incorporated with (B) a low-melting one comprising a polyolefin polymer having a melting point 10 deg.C or more lower than that of (A), containing 0.05- 5wt% of a flame-retardant to form a composite structure. Preferably, the components are arranged to give a side-by-side or sheath and core composite structure wherein the ratio of the circumference is 50%, and have the heat fusibility due to (B). The composition ratio of (A) to (B) of 5:5-3:7 is preferend for the wall thickness of (B) in the fiber cross-section. |
