The present application relates to optimized IgG immunoglobulin variants, engineering methods for their generation and their application. Specifically the present invention relates to a polypeptide comprising an Fc variant of a human IgG Fc polypeptide. The Fc variant comprises, according to Kabat numbering, an isoleucine at position 259 and a phenylalanine at position 308, and shows increased binding to human FcRn as compared to said human IgG Fc polypeptide.
