To a T-profiled ceiling or wall rail 5 is attached a fitting comprising two sheet metal strips 1, 2, which are configured such that, in the joined-together state, they can reach with bent-back hooks 3, 4 in over the flange of the T-profile on each side of the body 5. The strips 1, 2 are secured by spring action around the flange of the T- profile and in the opposite direction of the hooks 3, 4 they have guide sections 7 bent at right angles, which guide sections reach down on one side each of a wall element to be secured. The free ends 11 of the guide sections 7 can possibly be bent in around the flanges of a U-profile. The fitting has the advantage that it leaves no visible marks on the ceiling or wall rail when the partition wall is removed again. <IMAGE>
