The invention relates to a rodenticide bait comprising: an edible excipient for target rodent pests; and at least one rodenticide compound to be ingested, selected from among rodenticide compounds having a chemical structure including a plurality of configurational stereoisomers, wherein the hepatic persistence in the target rodents of one of said configurational stereoisomers (known as the less persistent stereoisomer) is below that of at least one other stereoisomer from the plurality of configurational stereoisomers, and this less persistent stereoisomer is the majority component of the plurality of configurational stereoisomers. According to the invention, the weight concentration of the rodenticide compound is selected so as not to be lethal to target rodent pests that consume the bait over one 24-hour period, but to be lethal to target rodent pests that consume the bait over multiple consecutive 24-hour periods. |
