PURPOSE:To enable a satisfactory printing without unwanted lines, etc., attributed to the reduction of the heat resistance of a heat resistant layer occurring at the boundaries of offset through in the wound-state storage at high temperature and high humidity as a thermal transfer recording sheet used in a sublimating migration-type transfer method, by a method wherein projection parts or recessed parts from a reference level of a surface at right angles to a running direction are generated on at least one part of the tip end part of a pattern on an ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording sheet is provided with ink layers 3 of Yellow Y, Magenta M, and Cyan C flush in order. Tip end parts 4, 4', 4'' of the surfaces of the respective ink layers 3 are designed so as to project from a reference level of surfaces 5, 5', 5'' at right angles to a running direction. The storage condition of a thermal transfer recording sheet being wound around a bobbin in a cassette brings a heat resistant layer 1 into contact with the ink layers 3, causes the migration of a sublimating dye in the ink layer 3 to the heat resistant layer 1, and results in offset. However, in this recording sheet according to the invention, the boundaries are not parallel to a thermal head, but gradually change, whereby a rapid change in high-temperature slide is avoided and the occurrence of wrinkles or unwanted lines is prevented even if the heat resistant layer 1 is changed due to the offset. |
