In a flatbed knitter, with paired needle beds behind each other, the distance pieces to adjust the cams are in the form of push rods which move longitudinally. There are a number of adjustable limit stop, at the ends of the push rods away from the cams in the push rod paths, which are positioned selectively by electro-magnets. Push rods are also held in a selected position by a controlled locking device. Design increases the operating speed of the knitter, and also reduces the machine manufacturing costs.
